The statement of Grand Ayatollah Saafi Gulpayegani on the auspicious occasion of Ghadir.

Brothers and sisters in Islam! Devoted Shiites! Peace be upon you all. Congratulations and felicitations on the auspicious occasion of Eid e Wilayat, Eid e Ghadir.
10 years ago (1420 H) it was announced to exclusively attribute 10 days as "Dah e Ghadir" ten days of wilayat with a comprehensive message.
Since then every year "Dah e Ghadir" is commemorated and each year the spiritual and intellectual blessings have been flourishing and the participation of the enlightened men is increasing day by day.
Indeed, this commemoration is worthy of expansion in every aspect and people should benefit hugely from this for attaining knowledge and wisdom and establishing unity between the Muslims.
Ghadir is the school of jihad, the school of faith, the school of Quran and all the prophets (pbuh). Every individual is invited to the school of intellect and insight.
One of the scholars says, "I saw a book in Baghdad on whose back was narrated 28th volume of the ascriptions of the Ghadir tradition and 29th volume will follow soon". This proves that 29 volumes were written solely about the ascriptions of this tradition in that time.
This is a brief description of the huge number of ascriptions of this tradition and the attention and efforts of the scholars and narrators (of traditions) towards the historical incident of Ghadir Khum. The written material regarding the matter of the sermon itself and the narrations and traditions relating the incident is extra ordinary in amount.
Ghadir has been talked about in the fields of arts, tradition (hadith), interpretation (tafseer), history, theology and many a people like Ibne Uqdeh have written books specifically about Ghadir under the titles of alWilaya and alGhadir and in the present times also books like Abqaat ul Anwaar have been compiled.
I humbly ask the Shiite of Ameer ul Momineen (as) to put in their optimum efforts in performing the following tasks.
1. The parents should re iterate the story of Ghadir to their children and make them acquainted with the concept of wilayat and make their lives and households blessed with the love and devotion towards Imam Ali (as).
2. Ghadir is a pillar of the identity of the school of Ahl e Bait (as). The media (news papers, magazines, websites and blogs) should propagate the truth about Ghadir in these days. Likewise, seminars and conferences exclusively on the subject of Ghadir should be organized.
3. Ghadir should be explained and elaborated in all the seminaries and universities and all should perceive the worldly message being delivered. A chair for Ghadir studies should be established in all the distinguished educational institutes and the scholars, teachers and researchers should put in their maximum efforts to establish this very important subject in the research and educational institutes throughout the world.
4. You should all strive to propagate the culture of Ghadir and should gain insight as this is the only way to reform oneself and the road to salvation goes through Ghadir. Resorting to Ghadir is the only way to secure the integrity and grandeur of the country.
In the end I express my gratitude to all those who are honored by serving the school of Ghadir and struggle to propagate its teachings. I ask for divine grace for them and honor myself as one of the humble servants of the court of Qanbar (as), the devoted servant of the Imam (as).
